The OD9, with its improved circuitry and JRC4558 IC, delivers the ultra-smooth, creamy, and dynamic overdrive tone that guitarists crave. The Overdrive and Output Level controls allow for adjusting the intensity and volume of the overdrive, while the Hi Boost/Hi Cut Tone control offers a range of brightness options from warm and smooth to sizzling hot. While the M-OD808 was the first of its kind, it was the OD-9 that solidified this sound in the history of Rock & Roll guitar. The OD-9's circuit is not a cleverly marketed redesign pretending to be a reissue. Instead, it is the original TS-9 circuit, enhanced with true bypass switching. Even the PC board remains the same as the one used by Maxon for over 30 years, with empty slots where FET switching circuit parts were omitted.
